AZPOA Gains 20 Year Retirement

June 14, 2006

On June 1, 2006, Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano signed a bill giving Arizona probation, surveillance, and juvenile detention officers the option of entering into a 20-year retirement plan.  This legislation brings these officers up to comparable retirement with other state law enforcement officers in Arizona.  The Arizona Probation Officers Association (AZPOA) and AZCOPS, NCPSO/CWA Local 7077 successfully lobbied this bill, through the efforts of AZCOPS lobbyist and AZPOA President Lu Ebratt.
