COPS Wins District 9 Organizing Award

In February 2006, COPS Local 9111, CWA’s California and Nevada public safety organization, was given an organizing award by Tony Bixler, CWA Vice-President for the District. This award was given for COPS’s incredible membership gains over the past year in both California and Nevada. Among the new groups that came into COPS were the Kern County, CA Detention Association and the Henderson, NV POA. “We are really appreciative of this award,” said COPS Executive Director Monty Holden. We have been really growing due to the organizing support of CWA and our effective COPS staff.”
