Meet and Confer for Arizona Corrections

Under the leadership of Arizona Correctional Peace Officers Association (AZCPOA) President Tixoc Munoz, and with the support of the Arizona Conference of Police and Sheriffs (AZCOPS) and NCPSO/CWA, a historical milestone was reached on January 28, 2008.  Governor Janet Napolitano signed an Executive Order extending meet and confer rights to employees in the Department of Corrections.  President Munoz thanked a membership of 3,600 strong for making his efforts over the past 2 years finally become a reality with the Governor's signature.  The executive order does not necessitate an election for a bargaining group; instead, the representational rights automatically are awarded to AZCPOA/AZCOPS/CWA.  Congratulations to Tixoc Munoz, his executive team and the entire AZCOPS family!
