NCPSO and COPS to Offer National Legal Representation Plan

NCPSO/CWA and COPS Local 9111 have just concluded an agreement that will provide a national legal defense plan for any Local upon request.  The national legal defense plan includes three options, which. depending on the option, can include full collective bargaining representation, administrative discipline, and/or representation for job-related criminal or civil matters.  

In an effort to provide improved services to NCPSO/CWA members and Locals, NCPSO Director John Burpo and COPS Local 9111 Executive Director Monty Holden announced the following two new legal representation plans available nationwide for NCPSO/CWA members:

Legal Defense Representation:

     24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week service/protection
     Representation in officer-involved shooting(s)
     Representation for in-custody deaths
     Representation in allegations of misconduct
     Representation at Internal Affairs interviews
     Representation at Civil Service Board (or any other regulatory Board) hearings
     Skelly, Arbitration or Mediation hearings
     Representation in on-the-job Criminal matters
     Representation in on-the-job Civil matters

Criminal and Civil Protections:

     24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week service/protection
     Representation in officer-involved shooting(s)
     Representation for in-custody deaths
     Representation at fatal on-duty traffic accidents
     Representation in on-the-job criminal matters
     Representation in on-the-job civil matters
