NCPSO & CWA Start Organizing in Kentucky

if collective bargaining rights granted by the State Legislature are good enough for local police and firefighters, they should be good enough for correctional officers. CWA Local 3372 Organizer and Executive Vice-President Bryce McGowan is working with correctional officer leadership to push for collective bargaining rights, either through recognition by the local government or through the State Legislature. More than half of the correctional officers have signed a petition seeking bargaining rights at this time. "We believe that there is no rationale for giving bargaining rights to one group of public safety personnel but not another," McGowan said, " and CWA is going to do everything possible to see that this injustice is corrected."
