WICOPS Starts Up in Wisconsin as the Newest NCPSO/CWA Group
February 4, 2005
Wisconsin is the latest addition of states where NCPSO/CWA has begun an organizing campaign. The newest group is the Wisconsin Coalition of Public Safety Officers (WI-COPS), which officially began operations on May 1st. The WI-COPS organizers are Jim Kluss and Len Jaglarski, both of which have extensive experience in the law enforcement labor field. Kluss has experience in negotiating police contracts and representing Wisconsin police units in interest arbitration cases. Jaglarski is an experienced organizer who has worked for police unions in both Wisconsin and Illinois.
"Lenny and I are very excited about becoming a part of the NCPSO/CWA family," Kluss said. "There is a tremendous potential in Wisconsin for CWA to increase its membership base in the law enforcement sector." Kluss and Jaglarski have already turned in numerous petitions for elections in WI cities and counties.
